The conference has grown out of two related meetings: SBP and BRiMS, which were co-located in previous years. Social computing harnesses the power of computational methods to study social behavior, such as during team collaboration. Cultural behavioral modeling refers to representing behavior and culture in the abstract, and is a convenient and powerful way to conduct virtual experiments and scenario analysis. Both social computing and cultural behavioral modeling are techniques designed to achieve a better understanding of complex behaviors, patterns, and associated outcomes of interest. Dear CRITIS Community and CI(I)P Community in general, The International Conference on Critical Information Infrastructures Security (CRITIS 2017) reaches its 12th anniversary this year. After several successful editions in the past, CRITIS continues the tradition of presenting innovative research and exploring new challenges in the field of critical (information) infrastructures protection (C(I)IP) and fostering the dialogue with stakeholders. The event will take place in Lucca from Oct 9th to 11th with the following thematic sessions: CS Cyber Security HF Human Factors TR Transport EM Emergency Management UR Urban Resilience IS Trust and Information Sharing Together with CRITIS, and in the line with the tradition, Satellite Workshops with take place just after the main conference, from Oct 12th to 13th. They intend to provide researchers in focused areas the opportunity to present and discuss their work, as well as to offer a forum for interaction among a broader community of researchers. A Special Session or Workshop will consist of a group of papers in a sub-discipline of Computational Collective Intelligence related to the main topics of ICCCI 2017. The papers will be required to meet the same standards as ICCCI 2017 papers and will be published in the conference proceedings, in a bound volume by Springer in their Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence series. All the Special Sessions and Workshops will be centralized as tracks in the same conference submission and reviewing system (EasyChair) as the regular papers. === DEADLINE EXTENSION === The Second International Workshop on the Internet of Agents (IoA) - In conjunction with AAMAS Conference 2017 - São Paulo, Brazil: May 8, 2017 - http://ioa.alqithami.com/2017/ - [ CALL FOR PAPER ] : Internet of Things (IoT) has recently gained much attention due to the overwhelming advantages it brings to our daily lives. The metaphor “Things" in an IoT does not only represent a variety of hardware, such as simple sensors, actuators or complex devices (e.g., vehicles, charging stations, heating control) it can also comprise pure software instances that might be service-oriented or data-driven. Thus, huge interoperable networks evolve producing large amounts of data and providing a tremendous quantity of services that are supposed to be handled in a distributed manner. An IoT offers the possibility to develop completely new cross-domain solutions but also comes with a lot of challenges for areas such as data aggregation, automated service selection or distributed planning. On the confluence between IoT and Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), there is a strong ongoing trend for the IoT to adapt to the intelligent nature/architecture of the MAS that we termed as “Internet of Agents” (IoA). The IoA workshop emphasizes on the current range of nascent network centric agents that operate on IoT infrastructures. From a broader point of view, this includes agents’ efforts to form collaborative units as well as the techniques and methodologies for constructing online agents that represent interests of their actual counterparts (e.g., hardware devices or sensors) and take actions autonomously. This workshop will reflect the impacts of the dynamic network proliferation and start of smart agent systems that exploit and explore opportunities heralded by the fast social-pace of interconnectivity. From a narrow point of view, we aim to collect, to present, and to discuss (practical) applications and cognitive foundations surrounding agent-based approaches that successfully overcome well-known challenges of software that operates on IoT environments in order to identify promising scenarios that motivate a broader use of agent-technology for the development of IoT-software. - [ WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES AND AREAS ] : The workshop seeks to attract papers concerning: - Presenting a formal or interdisciplinary architecture of IoA, - Discussing an experiment or prototype for IoA, - Providing a novel approach to IoA, or - Mapping an existing approach to IoA. This can be through a theoretical modeling, animation, simulation, or by presenting existing (real-world) applications. The topics of interest for the IoA workshop will comprise all technical issues that are related to IoT systems and can be solved via a (multi-)agent based approach. More concrete, these include but are not limited to: - Agents-based interactive environments - Architectures of cognitively reasoned things and interactions - Cooperation and collaboration mechanisms - Automated service discovery or selection - Quality-of-Service (QoS) and service composition - Computational models of distributed technologies - IoT/M2M applications and services employing MAS - Globalized networks and grid alliances - Network-centric warfare, individualism or organizations - IoA security including self-healing and self-protection - IoA monitoring and control including self-configuration/-adaption/-optimization Papers may address one or more of the listed topics, although authors should not feel limited by them. Introduction The Global Scientist Forum at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) aims to provide a platform for academic exchanges and discussions among young scholars at home and abroad, to promote interdisciplinary and academic innovation, and to discuss the approach towards developing world-class universities and disciplines. Through the recruitment of world-class talents, we plan to develop SUSTech into a leading research university with unique characteristics in the world. We now invite qualified researchers to attend the 2017 Global Scientist Forum at SUSTech, Shenzhen on 18-20 March 2017. II. Minimum Requirements for Applicants (a) Under the age of 40 (b) A doctoral degree obtained from an internationally renowned university and institute; or a Ph.D from a Chinese university with 3+ years overseas working experiences. Research excellence is the most important criterion in selecting the candidates (i.e., Forum participants). Salary and Benefits for recipients of the "Thousand Youth Talents Program" SUSTech provides generous remuneration to recipients of the "Thousand Youth Talents Program" as well as one of the best working and living conditions in the sector. In addition to national research funds (CNY 1-3 million) and personal income subsidies (CNY 500,000), Guangdong Province will support each "Thousand Youth Talent" additional research funding of CNY 500,000 and additional personal income subsidy of CNY 250,000. Furthermore, Shenzhen City will provide each "Thousand Youth Talent" further research funding of CNY 5 million and further personal income subsidy of CNY 2 million ("Shenzhen peacock talent plan B"). On top of all these supports from the central, Guangdong and Shenzhen governments, SUSTech will also provide research funding of CNY 1 million. In addition, SUSTech will also fund one PhD studentship per year to every faculty member. In short, a recipient of the "Thousand Youth Talents Program" will receive a total of CNY 7.5-9.5 million research funding, and CNY 2.75 million personal income subsidies (which is on top of the highly competitive salaries offered by SUSTech). VIII. About SUSTech Southern University of Science and Technology is a public university founded in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone of China. It is intended to be a top-tier international university that excels in interdisciplinary research, nurturing innovative talents and delivering new knowledge to the world. It has been widely regarded as a pioneer and innovator in moving China's higher education forward to match China's ever-growing role in the international arena. Currently, SUSTech has a total of 318 faculty members, including 14 academicians of CAS/CAE, 12 "Changjiang" scholars, 34 "Thousand Talents", and more than 60 "Thousand Youth Talents". IX. About Department of Computer Science and Engineering The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SUSTech was founded in 2016. It currently has 12 professors, all of whom hold doctoral degrees or have years of experience in overseas universities. Among them, two were elected into the 1000 Talents Program in China; three are IEEE fellows; one IET fellow. The department is expected to grow to 50 tenure track faculty members eventually, in addition to teaching-only professors and research-only professors. Our current research strength is in artificial intelligence, with three IEEE Fellows in this field. We also have expertise in smart sensing, UAVs, cognitive robotics, big data analytics, parallel and distributed computing, smart cyber-physical systems, wireless networks and communications, mobile health, cryptography, service computing and software engineering. Our five strategic areas for future growth include: Artificial Intelligence; Data Science; Autonomous Systems and Cognitive Robotics; Computer Systems and Networks; Computing Theories. We have a strong PhD programme joint developed with some of the best technological universities in the world, including Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the University of Hong Kong, National University of Singapore, University of Birmingham, University of Warwick, University of Leeds, University of Technology Sydney, etc. All our PhD students will spend at least one year in one of these overseas universities.
