Thanks to PAKDD Steering Committee, PAKDD will provide Early Career
Research Award to an individual in the first 10 years after PhD. The
award aims to promote young researchers in KDD fields when they create
their career. It consists of a plaque (and potentially cash) to the
awardee. The recipient will receive the award at the annual PAKDD
Conference during the awards session.
For any questions, please contact the PAKDD Junior Award Selection
Committee Chair, Raymond Wong (email: raywong(a)cse.ust.hk ).

excluded. The nominator should obtain the endorsement from the nominee
before nomination.
2. The nominee’s PhD should have been awarded no earlier than December
31st, current year – 11 years. For example, for the year 2025 awards,
this means no earlier than 31st December 2014.
3. The nominee can be anyone except the current PAKDD Award Selection
Committee.

CALL FOR PAPERS
The 9th International Workshop on Agent-based Modeling and Applications with SARL (SARL-25)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In conjunction with the 16th International Conference on Ambient Systems, Networks, and
Technologies ANT 2025
April 22 - 24, 2025, Patras, Greece.
https://www.ciad-lab.fr/9th-international-workshop-on-agent-based-modeling-…
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description
===========
Research on Agents and Multi-Agent Systems has matured during the last decade and many
effective applications of this technology are now deployed. SARL-25 provides an
international forum to present and discuss the latest scientific developments and
their effective applications, to assess the impact of the approach, and to facilitate
technology transfer.
SARL workshop was born with the SARL agent programming language, but the scientific results
presented in SARL-25 are not restricted to SARL; other languages and agent platforms may
be presented.
SARL aims at providing the fundamental abstractions for dealing with concurrency,
distribution, interaction, decentralization, reactivity, autonomy and dynamic
reconfiguration. These high-level features are now considered as the major
requirements for an easy and practical implementation of modern complex software
applications. We are convinced that the agent-oriented paradigm holds the keys to
effectively meet these features. Considering the variety of existing approaches and
meta-models in the field of agent-oriented engineering and more generally multi-agent
systems, our approach remains as generic as possible and highly extensible to easily
integrate new concepts and features.
The goal of SARL-25 is to provide a place where the different points of view on the
modeling and the simulation with agent platforms and agent programming languages may be
discussed.
SARL-25 will be held in Patras, Greece (April 22 - 24, 2025) in conjunction with the
15th International Conference on Ambient Systems, Networks, and Technologies (ANT 2025).
Topics
======
The main topics of the SARL-25 workshop are (but not restricted to):
* Methods and Models:
* Agent based Modeling and Simulation;
* Agent programming language;
* Agent based Simulation;
* Agent oriented analysis and design methods;
* Ontologies and theories about large urban systems;
* Formal models of agent-based simulation;
* Organizational models.
* Applications:
* Traffic/Transport;
* Crowds;
* Smart grids and smart buildings;
* Land-Use;
* Energy.

* Final date for camera-ready copy: February 9, 2025 (hard);
* Workshop: April 22 - 24, 2025.
Submission
==========
All workshop accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings published by
Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series online.
The submitted paper must be formatted according to the guidelines of Procedia Computer
Science, Elsevier. You are invited to submit full length papers in PDF format on

**CALL FOR PAPERS**
The 26th IEEE International Workshop on Parallel and Distributed
Scientific and Engineering Computing (PDSEC-2025) (http://www.ieee-tcsc.org/2025/pdsec/)
will be held on the 3rd of June 2025 in Milan, Italy, in conjunction with IPDPS 2025.
Deadline:
PDSEC-2025 deadline: 19 Jan 2025 (AoE)
Scope and Interests:
The technological trends in HPC system evolution indicates an increasing
burden placed on application developers due to the management of the
unprecedented complexity levels of hardware and its associated
performance characteristics. Many existing scientific applications codes
are unlikely to perform well on future systems without major modifications
or even complete rewrites. In the future, it will be necessary to utilize, in
concert, many characteristics such as multiple levels of parallelism, many
lightweight cores, complex memory hierarchies, novel I/O technology,
power capping, system-wide temporal/spatial performance heterogeneity
and reliability concerns. The parallel and distributed computing (PDC)
community has developed new programming models, algorithms, libraries
and tools to meet these challenges in order to accommodate productive
code development and effective system use. However, the scientific
application community still needs to identify the benefit through practical
evaluations.
Thus, the focus of this workshop is on methodologies and experiences
used in scientific and engineering applications and algorithms to achieve
sustainable code development for better productivity, application
performance and reliability. In particular, we will focus on the following
topics in parallel and distributed scientific and engineering applications,
and not limited to:
- Big scientific data
- Performance modeling and simulation for the execution of scalable
scientific applications on new heterogeneous architectures
- Graph analytics with their (scientific) applications
- Code modernization methodologies and experiences for adapting the
changes in future computing systems
- Languages for scientific computing on hybrid systems (e.g. Python,
MPI+X where X is OpenMP, OpenCL, CUDA etc.)
- Tools and techniques for improving the performance, reliability and
resilience of scientific applications
- Use cases of enterprise distributed computing technology (such as
MapReduce, Data Analytics and Machine-learning tools) in scientific and
engineering applications
- Scalable parallel and distributed algorithms supporting science and
engineering applications
- Performance portability across heterogeneous architecture
