Call for Papers, Tutorials and Special Sessions ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CIBB 2019 - 16th International Conference on Computational Intelligence methods for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Bergamo, Italy, 4-6 September 2019 www.cibb2019.it ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The main goal of the 16th edition of the CIBB international conference is to provide a multi-disciplinary forum open to researchers interested in the application of computational intelligence, in a broad sense, to open problems in bioinformatics, biostatistics, systems biology, synthetic biology, and medical informatics. Cutting edge methodologies capable of accelerating life science discoveries will be discussed. Following its tradition and roots, this year's meeting will bring together researchers from the international scientific community interested in advancements and future perspectives in bioinformatics and biostatistics. In addition, looking at current trends and future opportunities at the edge of computer and life sciences, the application of computational intelligence to systems and synthetic biology, and the consequent impact on innovative medicine, will be of great interest for the conference. TUTORIALS AND SPECIAL SESSIONS ------------------------------ CIBB 2019 will run a number of Tutorials and Special Sessions. Any topic of interest for the conference is eligible for a tutorial. Tutorials typically last from one to three hours. Special sessions focus on a specific, possibly cutting-edge, topic of interest for CIBB 2019. Special session organisers will be responsible for call dissemination, the reviewing process, and organizing oral presentations. Dear Colleague, this is an invitation to submit a contribution to the “Theoretical and Computational Chemistry and its Applications (TCCMA)” of the 19th International Conference on Computational Science and Applications (ICCSA 2019, http://www.iccsa.org/ <http://www.iccsa.org/>) to be held on July 1 - 4, 2019 in Saint Petersburg (Russia). All accepted papers will be included in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS, http://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs <http://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs> series and indexed by Scopus, EI Engineering Index, Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (included in ISI Web of Science), and several other indexing services. [Apologies if you receive multiple copies of this CFP] GrAPL 2019: Workshop on Graphs, Architectures, Programming, and Learning http://hpc.pnl.gov/grapl Co-Located with IPDPS 2019 May 20, 2019 Hilton Rio De Janeiro Brazil ----------------------------- GrAPL is the result of the combination of two IPDPS workshops: GABB: Graph Algorithms Building Blocks GraML: Workshop on The Intersection of Graph Algorithms and Machine Learning ----------------------------- Data analytics is one of the fastest growing segments of computer science. Much of the recent focus in Data Analytics has emphasized machine learning. This is understandable given the success of deep learning over the last decade. However, many real-world analytic workloads are a mix of graph and machine learning methods. Graphs play an important role in the synthesis and analysis of relationships and organizational structures, furthering the ability of machine-learning methods to identify signature features. Given the difference in the parallel execution models of graph algorithms and machine learning methods, current tools, runtime systems, and architectures do not deliver consistently good performance across data analysis workflows. In this workshop we are interested in Graphs, how their synthesis (representation) and analysis is supported in hardware and software, and the ways graph algorithms interact with machine learning. The workshop’s scope is broad which is a natural outgrowth of the wide range of methods used in large-scale data analytics workflows. The objectives of this workshop are as follows: * Understand data analytics workflows and the mix of graph and machine learning algorithms they require * Understand the synergies between evolving device technology and graph analytics applications to drive: 1) the direction of emerging hardware and software architecture, 2) new graph analytics algorithms that better exploit the emerging hardware; and 3) application workflows that mix the large graph synthesis and analytics and machine learning. * Explore different frameworks, languages and libraries to support programming graph analytics and machine learning algorithms * Evaluate the performance and scalability of integrated platforms for large graph synthesis and analysis, and machine learning While each of these topics on their own are well addressed in other workshops, we are particularly interested in the cross-cutting synergies. For example, hardware and software architectures specialized for machine learning (and in particular deep learning) may be poorly suited for graph algorithms. Can we understand these conflicting needs and perhaps find an architecture jointly optimized for both? This workshop seeks papers on the theory, model-based analysis, simulation, and analysis of operational data for graph analytics and related machine learning applications. We are particularly interested in papers that: * Discuss hardware platforms specialized for addressing large, dynamic, multi-attributed graphs and associated machine learning; * Discuss programming models and associated frameworks such as Pregel, Galois, Boost, GraphBLAS, GraphChi, etc., for building large multi-attributed graphs; * Discuss how frameworks for building graph algorithms interact with those for building machine learning algorithms; * Discuss the problem domains and problems addressable with graph methods, machine learning methods, or both; * Provide tractability performance analysis in terms of complexity, time-to-solution, problem size, and quality of solution for systems that deal with mixed data analytics workflows. It is going to be held on during July 1- 4, 2019 in Saint Petersburg, Russia in collaboration with the Saint Petersburg University, Russia. Submission deadline Feb 17, 2019. About the Workshop and Topics The Tools and Techniques in Software Development Processes (TTSDP 2019) provides a forum for researchers, and practitioners to share their new achievements, tools and techniques in the field of the software development process. TTSDP especially invites the experience papers from industry and academia, short papers, reports, surveys, working papers/work in progress and industrial reports. Review/Comment papers are also welcome with the limitation that the paper should be on general problem/topic in the field (no comments are allowed on a particular paper). TTSDP covers all the aspects of the development process: process models, agile development, software engineering practices, requirements, system and design engineering including architectural design, software modeling, testing strategies and tactics, process and product metrics for each phase of software development, component-based software engineering, software quality, verification and validation techniques and software project management. TTSDP 2019 invites you to submit your work that describes original and significant contribution in all area of the software development process. The paper submitted to TTSDP 2019 must not submit elsewhere either in conference or journal and should be in IEEE style. Papers selected after peer review will be included in the conference proceedings and presented orally at the conference. TTSDP 2019 invites you to submit three different types of session papers (5 to 11 pages long) on all above-mentioned topics: Research papers: Papers that describe original and significant contribution in all area of the software development process. Experience paper: papers from the field describing real-world experience related to the software development process. Short paper and reports: Papers that allows the explanation of ideas that are not yet fully validated. Review articles (not on a particular paper), comparative study and survey reports are also welcome. For any further information, please contact the Industrial Chair directly. *** Awards Ada-Europe will offer honorary awards for the best regular paper and the best presentation. *** Call for Educational Tutorials The conference seeks tutorials in the form of educational seminars that may include hands-on or practical demonstrations. Proposed tutorials can address any part of the reliable software domain, and may have an academic or industrial slant from technology perspective. All software topics and their application to reliability and safety are welcome. Tutorial proposals shall include a title, an abstract, a description of the topic, an outline of the presentation, the proposed duration (half day or full day), and the intended level of the tutorial (introductory, intermediate, or advanced), and most importantly a statement expressing why it will be worthwhile to attend the tutorial. Tutorial proposals shall be submitted to the Educational Tutorial Chair. The authors of accepted full-day tutorials will receive a complimentary conference registration. For half-day tutorials, this benefit is halved. The Ada User Journal will offer space for the publication of summaries of the accepted tutorials. *** Call for Workshops Workshops on themes within the conference scope may be proposed. Proposals may be submitted for half- or full-day events, to be scheduled at either end of the conference week. Workshop proposals shall be submitted to the Workshop Chair.
