IoT is considered as an integral part of the future Internet. It is based on interoperable communication protocols in order to enable the interaction and integration of virtual as well as physical Things such as computers, smart devices, sensors, cars, refrigerators, food packages, medicines, etc. Things can be seamlessly integrated into the information network and interaction can be made through the provision of intelligent interfaces. In not so distant future, IoT will be forcing its way into every aspect of our lives and technologies including smart homes, smart cities, environment and nature, green energy, food, medicine, automotive, aerospace and aviation, telecommunication, and so on. IoT is generally characterized by real world and small Things, limited capacity, constrained devices and the consequential issues such as less reliability, security and privacy. Cloud computing on the other hand deals mainly with virtual world and has unlimited capabilities in terms of storage and processing power. Thus cloud and IoT are the main complementary aspects of the future Internet. IoT can benefit from the unlimited capabilities and resources of cloud computing. Similarly, cloud can benefit from IoT by extending its scope to deal with real world things in a more distributed and dynamic manner. The theme of this conference is to promote the state of the art in scientific and practical research of the IoT and cloud computing. It provides a forum for bringing together researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and public sector in an effort to present their research work and share research and development ideas in the area of IoT and cloud computing. == Public video dataset for racing bicycle detection/tracking from aerial footage == The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) is making publicly available a video dataset for racing bicycle detection/tracking from aerial footage, under the auspices of the MULTIDRONE research and development project (https://multidrone.eu/). Benchmark_RAI has been prepared by processing/editing and annotating material made available by Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI) under the “Giro 2017” MULTIDRONE dataset. It is a dataset consisting of two videos (resolutions: 768 x 432 and 960 x 540) at 25 frames per second. The videos are from Giro d’Italia TV coverage provided by RAI. Annotations are exhaustive, i.e., all objects of a certain class present in a given image are covered by an annotation. Data mining techniques and algorithms to process huge amount of data in order to extract useful and interesting information have become popular in many different contexts. Algorithms are required to make sense of data automatically and in efficient ways. Nonetheless, even though sequential computer systems performance is improving, they are not suitable to keep up with the increase in the demand for data mining applications and the data size. Moreover, the main memory of sequential systems may not be enough to hold all the data related to current applications. Therefore, there is an increasing interest in the design and implementation of parallel data mining algorithms. On parallel computers, by exploiting the vast aggregate main memory and processing power of processors and accelerators, parallel algorithms can easily address both the running time and memory requirement issues. Anyway, parallelizing existing algorithms in order to achieve good performance and scalability with regard to massive datasets is not trivial. Indeed, it is of paramount importance a good data organization and decomposition strategy in order to balance the workload while minimizing data dependences. Another concern is related to minimizing synchronization and communication overhead. Finally, I/O costs should be minimized as well. The Workshop will allow exchanging ideas and results related to on-going research, focusing on high-performance aspects of data mining algorithms and applications. Creating breakthrough parallel algorithms for high-performance data mining applications requires addressing several key computing problems which may lead to novel solutions and new insights in interdisciplinary applications. The focus of the workshop is on all forms of advances in high-performance data mining algorithms and applications, and related topics. Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) constitute a new class of engineered systems, integrating software control and autonomous decision making with signals from an uncertain and dynamic environment. Internet transformed the way people interact and deal with information. CPS technology transformed the way people interact with engineered systems. For this type of systems, it is necessary not only ensuring the safety of physical devices but also other factors such as information about customers, suppliers, and organizational strategies needs to be secured. In the context of cyber systems, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies can contribute to manage a huge amount of heterogeneous data that come from different sources without human intervention. To deliver certification, standards for machine safety are highly recommended as they give confidence to the regulatory. The generic standard for safety-related hardware and software might be applicable, however, due to increasing autonomy of robots there is still a potential for evolution of such regulations or standards. The proper combination of AI, CPS and IoT is therefore fundamental. CPS are considered a disruptive technology which will transform the traditional manufacturing into Industry 4.0 solutions, and are used in a very wide spectrum of applications: smart mobility, autonomous driving, digital healthcare, smart grids and buildings, mobile co-operating autonomous robotic systems, digital consumer products and services. "In conclusion, the emerging Digital (R)-evolution relies heavily on Embedded Intelligent Systems technologies in domains where it is paramount that Europe takes leadership role" (Laila Gide, "The pathway to digital transformation: an opportunity for Europe", ARTEMIS Magazine 20 May 2016). This workshop aims to provide a platform to industrial practitioners, researchers and engineers in academia to exchange of their ideas, research results, experiences in the field of dependable and cyber physical systems engineering, both a theoretical and practical perspective. The aim of the colloquium is to bring together practitioners and researchers from academia, industry and government to present research results, and exchange experience, ideas, and solutions for their problems in theoretical aspects of computing. ICTAC also aims to promote research cooperation between developing and industrial countries. The proceedings will be published as a volume of Springer's LNCS series. Submissions must adhere to the LNCS format. Regular papers should not exceed 18 pages (excluding bibliography of maximum 2 pages). Short and tool papers should not exceed 10 pages. Submissions must not have been published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. All submissions will be judged on the basis of originality, contribution to the field, technical and presentation quality, and relevance to the conference. Each paper submission will be reviewed by at least three members of the Programme Committee. All contributions to ICTAC 2019 have to be submitted electronically in PDF format via Easy Chair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ictac2019)and have to follow the Springer LNCS paper format. One author of each accepted paper must attend the conference to present it, having paid the regular registration fee. The ICTAC committee will evaluate and select the best paper award winner.
