ACM WiSec also encourages the submission of short papers with a length of up to 6 pages, which describe mature work of a more succinct nature. All papers must be thoroughly anonymized for double-blind reviewing. Detailed submission instructions will appear on the conference website. *New at WiSec 2017* OPINION PAPERS: ACM WiSec 2017 invites papers (ACM conference style, up to 3 pages excluding references) that present personal perspectives on all aspects of security and privacy in wireless and mobile networks. Opinion papers could also criticize previous research or research directions, as well as highlight possible promising research directions. The opinions expressed in these papers are expected to be anyway corroborated by theoretical foundations, experiments, or experiences. Like the regular papers, the opinion papers will be reviewed by the WiSec Technical Program Committee. The selected opinion papers will be a part of the WiSec technical program and will be published in the conference proceedings. Opinion papers should be submitted using the same submission procedure adopted for the full papers. The title of these papers must have the prefix "Opinion:". *WiSec REPRODUCIBILITY LABEL:* This year WiSec is pioneering a process to support greater reproducibility in mobile and wireless security experimental research. The goal of this process is to increase the impact of mobile and wireless research, enable dissemination of research results, sharing of code and experiments set-ups, and to enable the research community to build on prior experimental results. Towards this goal, Wisec is introducing a reproducibility label to recognize papers whose results were reproduced by an independent group of researchers. Authors of accepted papers, can participate in this voluntary process by submitting their experiments following the reproducibility evaluation instructions. Authors are encouraged to plan ahead when running their experiments to minimize the overhead of applying for this label. *Posters and Demos* WiSec also solicits submission of posters and demos. *Double submissions* It is a policy of the ACM to disallow double submissions, where the same (or substantially similar) paper is concurrently submitted to multiple conferences/journals. LOCATION Praha (Prague)--also called The City of a Hundred Spires or The Heart of Europe--is situated in the very centre of Bohemia on the banks of the river Vltava. There live more than 1.2 million people in the metropolitan area. Thus, Praha is considered the centre of science, higher education, culture, economy and authorities. The city is divided into ten districts. Each of them offers its own charming atmosphere predicated upon its rich history. A good example can be the Jewish Quarter (Josefov) known especially for the legend of Golem and famous writer Franz Kafka. Then, walking the Parizska street (said to be the most luxurious street in the city), there is the Old Town Square. One of the most important squares of the city renowned for the rare Prague Astronomical Clock (Orloj), number of galleries, Bethlehem Chapel and a monument of religious reformer Jan Hus. The next place of interest can be found in the area of the New Town. The Wenceslas square with the monument of St. Wenceslas, the patron saint of the Czech state, is the longest square of the republic. Its capacity is fully used by various shops, restaurants, clubs and street artists. Also the renaissance revival-styled building of National Museum, which is now under reconstruction, is situated on the upper end of the square. Modern art and architecture together with technical mastery demonstration are represented by the Zizkov Television Tower, the Dancing House (Fred and Ginger Building) or the Stefanik's Observatory on the Petrin hill located in the neighbourhood of the quarter Hradcany. Also Krizik's light fountain or Industrial Palace in the area of the Holesovice Showground are worth seeing. However, the dominant feature of the skyline is still created by the Prague Castle and the Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral spires. The Golden Lane heading down to the Lesser Town shows the tiny and colorful medieval houses. There are many bridges connecting the banks of the Vltava River. However, only one of them is well known in the whole world--the Charles bridge. Czech King and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV promoted its construction in the 14th century. The bridge is 520 metres long and stands for a connection between the Lesser Town and the Old Town. It was built in the Gothic style as well as the St. Vitus Cathedral. Charles IV was also the founder of the University, which now proudly bears his name--The Charles University. It is one the world's oldest universities and with 17 faculties, 3 institutes, 6 centres of teaching, research and development it is also the largest and best rated university in the Czech Republic. The students can choose some of the 642 courses within 300 of accredited degree programmes in the field of medicine, law, theology, pharmacy, arts, science, mathematics and physics, education, social sciences, physical education and sports, and humanities. We are justifiably very proud of the fact that the campus of the Charles University is going to host the TSD2017 conference. Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) is a young university established in collaboration with MIT. Cyber security is one of its most important areas and grows very fast with rich research funding. It has the world's best facilities in cyber physical systems including testbeds for Secure Water Treatment (SWaT), Water Distribution (WADI), Electric Power and Intelligent Control (EPIC), and IoT. I am looking for promising PhD students who are interested in working in the area of cyber security. The position is fully funded up to 4 years with very competitive scholarship. Candidates should have an excellent background (with Bachelor or Master degree) in mathematics, computer science or electrical engineering and the ability to work on inter-disciplinary research projects. Acquaintance with cryptography and network/system security concepts as well as some programming skills will be considered as strong assets. The symposium proceedings will be published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series (LNCS). All submissions should follow the LNCS template from the time they are submitted. Submitted papers should be at most 16 pages (using 10-point font), excluding the bibliography and well-marked appendices, and at most 20 pages total. Committee members are not required to read the appendices, so the paper should be intelligible without them. All submissions must be written in English. Submissions are to be made to the Submission web site. Only pdf files will be accepted. Submissions not meeting these guidelines risk rejection without consideration of their merits. They have enjoyed widespread success in a plethora of real-world application domains and remain at the forefront of numerous theoretical studies to consolidate and augment their well-established properties. The second edition of the International Symposium on Fuzzy and Rough Sets (ISFUROS 2017) will take place at Valentin Perla Blanca Hotel, Santa Maria Key, in the province of Villa Clara, Cuba from October 24-26, 2017. It will be hosted by the Universidad Central de Las Villas (www.uclv.edu.cu) ISFUROS 2017 aims at providing a forum for exchange on fuzzy and rough set theories and their applications. The symposium includes tutorials, invited key lectures and paper presentations. The first International Workshop on Parallel Data Mining (WPDM 2017) CALL FOR PAPERS As part of The International Conference on High Performance Computing & Simulation (HPCS 2017) http://hpcs2017.cisedu.info or http://cisedu.us/rp/hpcs17 July 17 – July 21, 2017 Genoa, Italy Submission Deadline: March 20, 2017 Submissions could be for full papers, short papers, poster papers, or posters SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES The Workshop on Parallel Data Mining is an international forum which brings together researchers and practitioners working on different high-performance aspects of data mining algorithms, enabling novel applications. Data mining techniques and algorithms to process huge amount of data in order to extract useful and interesting information have become popular in many different contexts. Algorithms are required to make sense of data automatically and in efficient ways. Nonetheless, even though sequential computer systems performance is improving, they are not suitable to keep up with the increase in the demand for data mining applications and the data size. Moreover, the main memory of sequential systems may not be enough to hold all the data related to current applications. Therefore, there is an increasing interest in the design and implementation of parallel data mining algorithms. On parallel computers, by exploiting the vast aggregate main memory and processing power of processors and accelerators, parallel algorithms can easily address both the running time and memory requirement issues. Anyway, parallelising existing algorithms in order to achieve good performance and scalability with regard to massive datasets is not trivial. Indeed, it is of paramount importance a good data organisation and decomposition strategy in order to balance the workload while minimising data dependences. Another concern is related to minimising synchronisation and communication overhead. Finally, I/O costs should be minimised as well. The Workshop will allow exchanging ideas and results related to on-going research, focusing on high-performance aspects of data mining algorithms and applications. Creating breakthrough parallel algorithms for high-performance data mining applications requires addressing several key computing problems which may lead to novel solutions and new insights in interdisciplinary applications. The focus of the workshop is on all forms of advances in high-performance data mining algorithms and applications, and related topics. The WPDM Workshop topics include (but are not limited to) the following: - Scalable message-passing parallel data mining algorithms using MPI - Scalable shared-memory parallel data mining algorithms using OpenMP - Scalable hybrid MPI + OpenMP parallel data mining algorithms - Parallel data mining algorithms targeting GPUs and many-cores accelerators - Exploiting modern parallel architectures including FPGA for parallel data mining applications - Map-reduce based parallel data mining algorithms - Middleware for high-performance data mining on grid and cloud environments - Benchmarking and performance studies of high-performance data mining applications - Novel programming paradigms to support high-performance computing for data mining - Performance models for high-performance data mining applications and middleware - Programming models, tools, and environments for high-performance computing in data mining - Caching, streaming, pipelining, and other optimisation techniques for data management in high-performance computing for data mining INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER SUBMISSIONS You are invited to submit original and unpublished research works on above and other topics related to synergy between parallel computing, optimisation and simulation. Understanding the societal and economic impact and human-centered aspects of a smart system or technology in advance and designing the system a-priori with potential value-added services help spur the discoveries of new tools, methodologies and innovative services. Smart service systems span across a variety of socio-technical facets comprising of devices, people, organizations, environments, and technologies to sense, actuate, control and assess the physical, cyber and societal artifacts of the human service systems. Besides the systems being self-adaptive and fault-tolerant, need to be designed in such a way that it can continuously increase the quality and productivity, the compliance and sustainability of the smart services it offers. While human-centered perspective and cognitive learning help create multi-facet value added services and catalyze the sustained economic growth of smart service systems, understanding the multi-modal sensing, control, heterogeneity and interdependency between different physical, virtual and logical components of such a complex system will enable the realization of new transformative smarter service systems. If successful, this can help improve the quality-of-service of the customers, quality-of-life of the citizens and quality-of returns of the stakeholders and investors. Nurturing the development of smart service systems seeks for inter- and trans-disciplinary crosscutting research threads from system and operational engineering, computer science and information systems, social and behavioral science, computational modeling and industrial engineering etc. The goal of this workshop is to bring together practitioners and researchers from both academia and industry in order to have a forum for discussion and technical presentations on the fundamental knowledge and principles of smart service systems that enable the value co-creation in sensing, actuating, data analytics, learning, cognition, and control of human centric cyber-physical-social systems. Papers can be submitted as REGULAR or POSITION papers. - REGULAR Paper: Regular papers present work where research is completed. They can be up to 12 pages. Authors of regular submitted papers will indicate at the time of submission whether they would like their paper to also be considered for publication as a position paper. - POSITION Paper: A position paper presents results that are preliminary or that simply require fewer pages to describe. A position paper may be a short report and discussion of ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research (theoretical or experimental) on one of the conference topics. The acceptance of a position paper is restricted to the categories of "short paper". SMAP 2017 has the support of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society technical co-sponsorship. *Special session on Personalized delivery of cultural heritage content ----------------------------------- Digital cultural heritage is now a mature field, in which information technologies are used in the service of preserving cultural heritage. The digital form of resources allows for the exploitation of advances in data analytics, semantics, information retrieval, user interaction, profiling and personalization in order to develop new, exciting and stimulating exhibitions and cultural/educational/touristic experiences. For this special session we invite works that present and/or review the current state of the art in theory and practice, as well as promising recent advances, in the area of aligning the delivery process for cultural heritage content to the needs, goals, characteristics and preferences of individual users and user groups. The session is broad in scope, with the caveat that emphasis should be on the link between cultural heritage and personalization techniques. *Special Session on Multimodal affective analysis for human-machine interfaces and learning environments ----------------------------------- Affective analysis is a broad research area that focuses on the recognition, interpretation, processing and simulation of human affect, i.e., feelings or emotions. During the last years many efforts in the fields of content understanding and human-machine interaction have turned towards a more human-centered approach and complement traditional semantic-based ones by enhancing them with the users’ affective state while interacting with machines (typically computers, avatars and robots). This special session calls for research papers focusing on signal analysis and machine learning techniques that extract affective knowledge from auditory, visual and textual information usually employed in human-machine interaction and learning applications. Papers that focus on new signal representation, feature extraction and emotion modelling approaches are welcomed, as well as papers covering practical work, tools and applications. *Proceedings/Publications ----------------------------------- As with all previous editions of SMAP, all accepted papers are planned to be published by IEEE in IEEEXplore. Based on the quality of the work presented and its estimated potential selected papers will be invited for consideration, in a revised and extended form, for inclusion in an additional journal publication. *Submission guidelines ---------------------------------- Each submitted paper will be refereed by at least three members of the SMAP 2017 Program Committee, based on its relevance, originality, significance, technical soundness and clarity of expression. The conference is devoted to the design, development, deployment, and analysis of the complex systems whose behavior is largely determined or controlled by computers. Such systems are characterized by functional, performance, and reliability requirements that mandate the tight integration of information processing and physical processes. ECBS integrates software, hardware, and communication perspective of system engineering through its many facets that include system modeling, requirements specification, simulation, architectures, safety, security, reliability, human-computer interaction, system integration, verification and validation, high performance/parallel computing, cloud-based technologies, and project management. The conference provides a bridge between industry and academia, blending academic research and industrial development. The proceedings will be published in the International Conference Proceedings Series of ACM and after the conference they will be accessible in the ACM Digital Library. A Best Paper Award will be presented to the best paper presented at the conference, and a Best Student Paper Award will be presented to the best paper written solely or mostly by students.
