About the Workshop and Topics The Tools and Techniques in Software Development Processes (TTSDP 2021) provides a forum for researchers, and practitioners to share their new achievements, tools and techniques in the field of the software development process. TTSDP especially invites the experience papers from industry and academia, short papers, reports, surveys, working papers/work in progress and industrial reports. Review/Comment papers are also welcome with the limitation that the paper should be on general problem/topic in the field (no comments are allowed on a particular paper). TTSDP covers all the aspects of the development process: process models, agile development, software engineering practices, requirements, system and design engineering including architectural design, software modeling, testing strategies and tactics, process and product metrics for each phase of software development, component-based software engineering, software quality, verification and validation techniques and software project management. TTSDP 2021 invites you to submit your work that describes original and significant contribution in all area of the software development process. The paper submitted to TTSDP 2021 must not submit elsewhere either in conference or journal and should be in IEEE style. Papers selected after peer review will be included in the conference proceedings and presented orally at the conference. TTSDP 2021 invites you to submit three different types of session papers (5 to 11 pages long) on all above-mentioned topics: Research papers: Papers that describe original and significant contribution in all area of the software development process. Experience paper: papers from the field describing real-world experience related to the software development process. Apologies if you got multiple copies of this email] Call for Papers The Fourth International Workshop on Systems and Network Telemetry and Analytics (SNTA 2021) https://sdm.lbl.gov/snta/2021/ Scope: The tasks of systems and network telemetry are a key element for effective operations and management of HPC and distributed computing systems, by offering comprehensive measurement and analysis capabilities to provide the visibility into what is occurring at any time. The tasks will be significantly complicated with the greater complexity of computing systems, increasing network speed, and the newly introduced mobile and IoT devices. Such changes will render the existing telemetry and analysis techniques to be outdated, and more scalable techniques may be in place for data-driven and deeper data analysis. In addition to the quantitative and qualitative challenges, data pressure in systems and networks also comes from various sources such as sensors, computing systems, networking and security devices, and other \emerging computing elements speaking with different syntax and semantics, which makes organizing and incorporating the generated data difficult for extensive analysis. This workshop aims at bridging the systems and network measurement and the latest advances in machine learning and data science technologies, to advance the performance and reliability of HPC and distributed systems. New analysis techniques are needed in the modern world, from the diverse angles of systems/network performance, availability, and security. For example, real-time streaming analytics algorithms and methods need to be explored for estimating network performance and summarizing the traffic variables to capture the network activities due to the network bandwidth increase. Multivariate analysis of telemetric variables may be able to provide the intuitive, comprehensive view of the systems and networks dynamics. New logging techniques are also needed in the future with the latest development in the storage and archival technologies. In addition, many applications in this area may need to address the application-specific requirements and challenges. This workshop intends to share visions of investigating new approaches and methods at the intersection of data sciences and HPC/distributed computing systems. Dear drone imaging scientists and engineers, you are invited to submit an original, unpublished technical paper to the Special Session "Image and video analysis for autonomous drones" of EUSIPCO 2021: https://eusipco2021.org/. New submission deadline for the EUSIPCO conference is March 1, 2021. Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs, or drones) are becoming more and more important to many industries, promising simplified logistics, cost reductions, increased safety for humans, quicker response times and more accurate results, when compared to traditional procedures. Drones are highly useful thanks to their easy deployment, their aerial point-of-view and their ability to access difficult-to-reach spaces. Recent advances in aerial robotics and AI have already pushed drone automation to an unprecedented degree in various application domains, such as infrastructure inspection and maintenance, aerial cinematography, search and rescue operations, etc. Manipulation, processing, analysis and learning of visual signals lie at the forefront of this revolution. This special session will consider current research in this interdisciplinary subject, aiming to bring together researchers working on image/video analysis and experts in aerial robotics. Topics of interest may include, among others: - Embedded computer vision - Deep learning for image/video analysis - Multimodal perception - Sensor and data fusion - Fault and anomaly detection in drone footage - Subcentimeter-accuracy inspection - Autonomous drone cinematography - Vision-based localization and mapping - Vision-based drone navigation/control - Vision-based human-drone interaction This Special Session concerns a very timely topic with high industrial potential, given that fully/semi- automated drones are slowly emerging as a viable alternative to manually teleoperated ones, thanks to recent advances in robotics and AI. A lot of underlying cognitive functionalities that enable such autonomy, particularly the ones facilitating drone perception, rely on advanced image/video analysis methods for achieving their goals, making this a highly interdisciplinary topic of exceptional interest both to imaging scientists and aerial robotics researchers. Practitioners using heuristic algorithms for hard optimization problems are confronted with the burden of selecting the most appropriate method, in many cases through expensive algorithm configuration and parameter tuning. Scientists seek theoretical insights and demand a sound experimental methodology for evaluating algorithms and assessing strengths and weaknesses. This effort requires a clear separation between the algorithm and the experimenter, who, in too many cases, is "in the loop" as a motivated intelligent learning component. LION deals with designing and engineering ways of "learning" about the performance of different techniques, and ways of using past experience about the algorithm behavior to improve performance in the future. Intelligent learning schemes for mining the knowledge obtained online or offline can improve the algorithm design! process and simplify the applications of high-performance optimization methods. Combinations of different algorithms can further improve the robustness and performance of the individual components. This meeting explores the intersections and uncharted territories between machine learning, artificial intelligence, energy, mathematical programming and algorithms for hard optimization problems. The main purpose of the event is to bring together experts from these areas to discuss new ideas and methods, challenges and opportunities in various application areas, general trends and specific developments. We are excited to be bringing the LION conference in Greece for the third time. Call for Papers: ICAS 2021 Autonomous Vehicle Vision (AVVision) Special Session (Deadline: March 03, 2021) ICAS is a flagship event sponsored by IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) through IEEE SPS Autonomous Systems Initiative. Special Session Website: https://avvision.xyz/icas21/ With a number of breakthroughs in autonomous system technology over the past decade, the race to commercialize self-driving cars has become fiercer than ever. The integration of advanced sensing, computer vision, signal/image processing, and machine/deep learning into autonomous vehicles enables them to perceive the environment intelligently and navigate safely. In fact, it enables automation through the advance of AI-based decision-making. As such, reasoning is even more important than data analytics in assessing situations. Next-generation networks are thus critical assets that need to be protected as the society will be gradually relying on it, connecting every sector, from the home or workplace to the transport system or the hospital. Cybersecurity may as well benefit from AI approaches for diverse tasks such as malware analysis, intrusion detection, log analysis, threat classification, with a goal to enhance the cybersecurity situation of next-generation networks. Amalgamations between AI and Cybersecurity have been ongoing for more than three decades, and both of them are recently experiencing a blooming stage due to the increasing deployment of next- generation networks in the society. On the one hand, AI offers tremendous capabilities to analyze the threats, risks and attacks in various networking systems, enabling comprehensive and in-depth defense strategies. For example, both supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms have been frequently used to detect intrusion, while reinforcement learning has the potential to discover optimal security countermeasures for a particular attack. There is also an emerging trend on utilizing AI to assess and improve cybersecurity measures, e.g., by generating evaluation datasets, which Cybersecurity is direly lacking, or predict new malware. On the other hand, AI platforms, algorithms, and systems are attracting significant attention from the Cybersecurity community because of their increasing development, deployment, and application in our ICT infrastructure and services. For instance, the lack of interpretability of many deep learning models makes it extremely hard to defend against a sophisticated attack that either poisons data inputs and transformation, or exploits algorithm parameters and underlying software bugs. Recently, adversarial machine learning approaches have also prompted considerations for more critical thinking with respect to the adoption of AI-based systems, as next-generation network infrastructures that depend on them could be crippled by AI-related incidents then.
