Through a series of mathematical algorithms, together with the increasing availability of data and computational power, a machine learning system can make accurate predictions based on existing data. In addition to the development of new algorithms or the fine-tuning of existing ones, many researchers identified a huge potential in the application of machine learning methods to solve relevant problems. One of the most promising application fields is ‘e-services’, that is, the provision of traditional services through an online Internet-based channel. This Special Issue will address the most recent advances in the introduction of machine learning techniques to improve and personalize e-services. Thus, contributions are expected to present original research on machine learning with real-world applications in e-services. ICCSA 2021: Computational Optimization and Applications

Dear colleague, This is an invitation to submit a contribution for the: Computational Optimization and Applications (COA 2021) Workshop of the 21th International Conference on Computational Science and Applications (ICCSA 2021, <http://www.iccsa.org/> http://www.iccsa.org/) will be held on July 5 - 8, 2021 in collaboration with the University of Cagliari, Italy, in blended form. Like last year, ICCSA 2021 offers the possibility of online-only participation (with reduces registration fees). But we are also planning to offer the possibility of in-presence participation, should the pandemic situation allow it, by setting up a blended experience for mixed online/in-presence sessions. TOPICS ====== The scope of the Workshop is to bring together scientists working in Computational Optimization and its applications in science and engineering. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): * Computational Optimization: new issues in computational algorithms for continuous and discrete optimization; deterministic and stochastic algorithms, nature-inspired algorithms and other metaheuristic algorithms for solving optimization problems. * Applications: case studies in all areas of sciences, engineering and industry, including economics, medicine, biology, earth sciences and social sciences. IMPORTANT DATES ================ March 28, 2021: Deadline for abstract and paper submission to the COA Workshop April 18, 2021: Notification of Acceptance. May 10, 2021: Submission deadline for the final version of the Proceeding Papers May 10, 2021: Early-bird Registration ends. July 5-8, 2021: ICCSA 2020 Conference PROCEEDINGS ============ The proceedings of the COA 2021 Workshop will appear in the Springer-Verlag, Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. The paper must be camera-ready, between 10 and 16 pages long and formatted according to the LNCS rules SUBMISSION DETAILS ================== All accepted papers will be included in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS, <http://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs> http://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs ) series and indexed by Scopus, EI Engineering Index, Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (included in ISI Web of Science), and several other indexing services. The papers will contain linked references, XML versions and citable DOI numbers. Submitted papers will be subject to stringent peer review by at least three experts and carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. All SEIT 2021 accepted papers will be published by Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series on-line. Procedia Computer Sciences is hosted on www.Elsevier.com and on Elsevier content platform ScienceDirect (www.sciencedirect.com), and will be freely available worldwide. Selected papers will be invited for publication in an international journal. SEIT 2021 will be held in the city of Leuven. Leuven is the capital of the province of Flemish Brabant in Belgium. It is located about 25 kilometres (16 miles) east of Brussels. It is the 10th largest municipality in Belgium and the fourth in Flanders. Leuven is home to the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, the largest and oldest university of the Low Countries and the oldest Catholic university still in existence. The related university hospital of UZ Leuven, is one of the largest hospitals of Europe. The city is also known for being the headquarters of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewer and one of the five largest consumer-goods companies in the world. Leuven's Town Hall is one of the best-known Gothic town halls worldwide and Leuven's pride and joy. It took three architects and thirty years to build it. Leuven's 'Hall of Fame' features 236 statues, which were only added to the faÃ§ade after 1850. There are 220 men and 16 women in total. On the bottom floor are famous Leuven scientists, artists and historical figures, dressed in Burgundian garb. The first floor is reserved for the patron saints of the various parishes of Leuven. Above them the faÃ§ade is adorned by the counts and dukes of Brabant while the towers primarily feature biblical figures.
