Along these decades various methods and techniques have been studied and developed for automated proving and discovering of elementary geometry statements. On the other hand, dynamic geometry software systems have emerged, such as Cabri Geometry, C.a.R., Cinderella, DrGeo, GeoGebra, The Geometer's Sketchpad, Geometry Expert, Geometry Expressions or Kig with an ever-increasing presence in mathematics education. Some of them possess a large number of users (over thirty million) all around the world. The merging of these two tools (automatic proving and dynamic geometry) is, thus, a very natural, challenging and promising issue, currently involving logic, symbolic computation, software development, algebraic geometry and mathematics education experts all from over the world. The Special Issue intends to be an opportunity for - presenting the current state of the art concerning the development of automatic proving features on dynamic geometry systems, - discussing the current and potential applications of such features in different contexts, such as CAGD or mathematics education. TOPICS (not restricted to): - Algorithmic aspects: formal, logic and algebraic geometry approaches, constraint solving, invariant and coordinate-free methods, real and complex geometry issues, probabilistic, synthetic approaches, techniques from discrete mathematics, combinatorics, and numerics. - Software aspects: Implementation of automated proving methods in dynamic geometry programs, design of packages and systems, data representation. Parallel and distributed computing, considerations for modern hardware and new devices. User-interface issues, use with systems for digital libraries, courseware, ... - Application aspects: applications to mechanics, geometric modeling, CAGD/CAD, computer vision, robotics and education. Papers must not duplicate work already published or submitted for publication elsewhere. All the papers will be refereed according to the JSC standards. Papers should follow the guidelines for JSC submissions (see https://www.elsevier.com/journals/journal-of-symbolic-computation/0747-7171…), and should be submitted through Easychair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=jscdgarsi2018). The introduction of the paper must explicitly address the following questions in succinct and informal manner: - What is the problem? - Why is the problem important? - What has been done so far on the problem? - What is the main contribution of the paper on the problem? - Why is the contribution original? (see below for clarification) - Why is the contribution non-trivial? Make the paper complete (since there is no page limit): - All the related works and issues must be completely and carefully discussed. - All the previous relevant JSC papers must be properly cited and discussed. - All the theorems must be rigorously proved (no sketch allowed). - All the important definitions/theorems/algorithms must be illustrated by well-chosen examples. * An international journal, the Journal of Symbolic Computation, founded by Bruno Buchberger in 1985, is directed to mathematicians and computer scientists who have a particular interest in symbolic computation. Automated theorem proving is one of the research areas of interest highlighted in the Journal’s description. The Journal of Symbolic Computation has a 1.030 Impact Factor, according to the last Thompson Reuters Journal Citation Reports (2016).

A Special Session or Workshop will consist of a group of papers in a sub-discipline of Computational Collective Intelligence related to the main topics of ICCCI 2017. The papers will be required to meet the same standards as ICCCI 2017 papers and will be published in the conference proceedings, in a bound volume by Springer in their Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence series. All the Special Sessions and Workshops will be centralized as tracks in the same conference submission and reviewing system (EasyChair) as the regular papers. The first International Workshop on Parallel Data Mining (WPDM 2017) CALL FOR PAPERS As part of The International Conference on High Performance Computing & Simulation (HPCS 2017) http://hpcs2017.cisedu.info or http://cisedu.us/rp/hpcs17 July 17 – July 21, 2017 Genoa, Italy Submission Deadline: March 20, 2017 Submissions could be for full papers, short papers, poster papers, or posters SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES The Workshop on Parallel Data Mining is an international forum which brings together researchers and practitioners working on different high-performance aspects of data mining algorithms, enabling novel applications. Data mining techniques and algorithms to process huge amount of data in order to extract useful and interesting information have become popular in many different contexts. Algorithms are required to make sense of data automatically and in efficient ways. Nonetheless, even though sequential computer systems performance is improving, they are not suitable to keep up with the increase in the demand for data mining applications and the data size. Moreover, the main memory of sequential systems may not be enough to hold all the data related to current applications. Therefore, there is an increasing interest in the design and implementation of parallel data mining algorithms. On parallel computers, by exploiting the vast aggregate main memory and processing power of processors and accelerators, parallel algorithms can easily address both the running time and memory requirement issues. Anyway, parallelising existing algorithms in order to achieve good performance and scalability with regard to massive datasets is not trivial. Indeed, it is of paramount importance a good data organisation and decomposition strategy in order to balance the workload while minimising data dependences. Another concern is related to minimising synchronisation and communication overhead. Finally, I/O costs should be minimised as well. The Workshop will allow exchanging ideas and results related to on-going research, focusing on high-performance aspects of data mining algorithms and applications. Creating breakthrough parallel algorithms for high-performance data mining applications requires addressing several key computing problems which may lead to novel solutions and new insights in interdisciplinary applications. The focus of the workshop is on all forms of advances in high-performance data mining algorithms and applications, and related topics. The WPDM Workshop topics include (but are not limited to) the following: - Scalable message-passing parallel data mining algorithms using MPI - Scalable shared-memory parallel data mining algorithms using OpenMP - Scalable hybrid MPI + OpenMP parallel data mining algorithms - Parallel data mining algorithms targeting GPUs and many-cores accelerators - Exploiting modern parallel architectures including FPGA for parallel data mining applications - Map-reduce based parallel data mining algorithms - Middleware for high-performance data mining on grid and cloud environments - Benchmarking and performance studies of high-performance data mining applications - Novel programming paradigms to support high-performance computing for data mining - Performance models for high-performance data mining applications and middleware - Programming models, tools, and environments for high-performance computing in data mining - Caching, streaming, pipelining, and other optimisation techniques for data management in high-performance computing for data mining INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAPER SUBMISSIONS You are invited to submit original and unpublished research works on above and other topics related to synergy between parallel computing, optimisation and simulation. Their objective is to complement the regular program with specific or emerging topics that are of particular interest to the Web Intelligence community and, in case of Workshops, to provide a forum for intense and deep-going discussions. Special Session and Workshop proposals need to address topics that do not pertain to well-established tracks of WI. They may, however, cut across and beyond disciplines traditionally represented at WI conferences. Special Sessions ---------------- Typically, each Special Session comprises at least 3 regular presentations, or 5 short ones, or an adequate mixture of these. The first paper in a Special Session may serve as an introduction to the field, aimed at listeners, who are not experts in the field yet and, therefore, could also be an overview paper. An organizer should not contribute with more than one paper. Workshops --------- The purpose of the CP workshops is to provide a more informal venue in which participants can: * explore specific research areas in depth, * discuss new research directions, * study specific application areas of Web Intelligence, or * bring together researchers from different areas with shared interests. How is a proposal meant to look like? ------------------------------------- Prospective organizers of Special Sessions or Workshops (called events in the following) should submit proposals indicating: 1. The rise of *Next Generation Sequencing* (NGS) technologies, also known as *high-throughput sequencing* technologies, has contributed actively to the deluge of these data. In general, these data are big, heterogeneous, complex, and distributed in all over the world in databases. Analyzing this huge volume of data is a challenging task, not only, because of its complexity and its multiple and numerous correlated factors, but also, because of the continuous evolution of our understanding of the biological mechanisms. Classical approaches of biological data analysis are no longer efficient and produce only a very limited amount of information, compared to the numerous and complex biological mechanisms under study. From here comes the necessity to use computer tools and develop new *in silico* high performance approaches to support us in the analysis of biological data and, hence, to help us in our understanding of the correlations that exist between, on one hand, structures and functional patterns in biological macromolecules and, on the other hand, genetic and biochemical mechanisms. *Biological **Knowledge Discovery from Data* (BIOKDD) is a response to these new trends. ACM IUI is where the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) community meets the Artificial Intelligence (AI), with contributions from related fields such as psychology, behavioral science, cognitive science, computer graphics, design or the arts. Our focus is to improve the interaction between humans and machines, by leveraging both more traditional HCI approaches, as well as solutions that involve state-of-the art AI techniques such as machine learning, natural language processing, data mining, knowledge representation and reasoning. ACM IUI welcomes contribution from any relevant arena: academia, business, or non-profit organizations. The conference brings together people from academia, industry and non-profit organizations and gives its participants the opportunity to present and see cutting-edge IUI work in a focused and interactive setting. It is large enough to be diverse and lively, but small enough to allow for extensive interaction among attendees and easy attendance to the events that the conference offers, ranging from oral paper presentations, poster sessions, workshops, panels and doctoral consortium for graduate students. The 22nd edition of the conference will be held in Limassol, Cyprus. Limassol (or Lemesos) is a multicultural bustling town, flanked by two ancient cities, Amathus and Kourion, and guarded by the Amathusian Aphrodite and Appolo Hylates. It is a town of great visual diversity and contrast from spectacular seafront views, historic places like the mediaeval Castle, and Byzantine churches. Along the 17 km long sandy beaches, two Marinas, world renowned 5 star hotels, and a most exciting dining, shopping, nightlife and yachting scene create a year-round vibrant lifestyle well beyond the expectations of a Mediterranean island. Cyber security researchers, as well as security professionals from industry and government, have proposed various graphical security modeling schemes. Such models are used to capture different security facets (digital, physical, and social) and address a range of challenges including vulnerability assessment, risk analysis, defense analysis, automated defensing, secure services composition, policy validation and verification. The objective of the GraMSec workshop is to contribute to the development of well-founded graphical security models, efficient algorithms for their analysis, as well as methodologies for their practical usage. TOPICS The workshop seeks submissions from academia, industry, and government presenting novel research on all theoretical and practical aspects of graphical models for security.
