Dear distinguished AI Professor or Senior Scientist (PhD holder), the International AI Doctoral Academy (AIDA) aims to become a reference initiative for AI education in Europe and implement mechanisms for inter-university sharing of AI educational assets at PhD-level. As part of the program, AIDA offers a series of courses on Artificial Intelligence and related fields given by distinguished lecturers. *w**e invite you to contribute to the definition of the AIDA Spring 2024 semester **course offer **program*. You can participate in the AIDA program by offering new or opening-up existing courses targeted to AIDA students* or other students worldwide according to the participation terms of your own organization. Short/Very Short course formats (5-16 hours) are typically encouraged, while semester courses, or asynchronous mode web courses will be considered as well. WOCC'24: International Workshop on Converged Computing on Edge, Cloud, and HPC May 16, 2024, Hamburg, Germany To be held in conjunction with ISC'24: The International Conference on High Performance Computing Workshop website: https://kth-scalab.github.io/events/wocc24 Submission webpage: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wocc24 ## Introduction The landscape of scientific computing is changing rapidly as complex, multi-stage pipelined workflows that combine traditional HPC computations with large-scale data analytics and AI are becoming increasingly common. Such complex workflows are expected to require the coordinated use of supercomputers, cloud data centers, and edge-processing devices in an environment with shared characteristics. Providing a seamless environment that combines the best of these worlds leads to an era of Converged Computing. Cloud computing is becoming a dominant market force, driving innovation in both hardware and the software needed to manage increasing system and workflow complexity. Cloud technologies are gaining prevalence in HPC due to their benefits of resource dynamism, automation, reproducibility, and resilience. Similarly, HPC technologies for application performance optimization and sophisticated scheduling of complex resources are being integrated into modern cloud infrastructures. However, the convergence of HPC and cloud also raises a series of new challenges in areas of resource management, data transfers, storage and throughput. The Second Workshop on Converged Computing (WOCC'24) will provide the edge, HPC and cloud communities a dedicated venue for discussing challenges and research opportunities, deployment efforts, and best practices in supporting complex workflows on coordinated use of supercomputers and cloud data centers as well as edge-processing devices. The workshop aims to spark discussion between participants who are developing applications, algorithms, middleware, and infrastructure for converged environments. ## Topics of Interest We encourage submission of works that are related to the following topics, and accept other related topics. Accepted journal track papers will be published in a Special Issue of Elsevier JSA - the Journal of Systems Architecture (Q1 ranked, CiteScore 8.5, impact factor 4.5). Accordingly, the conference is listed as "Journal Published" in the latest update of the CORE Conference Ranking released in August 2023. [Submission details removed. Call is closed now.] Authors who have successfully passed the first round of review will be invited to present their work at the conference. The abstract of the accepted contributions will be included in the conference booklet. Early-stage ideas are 1-page papers that pitch new research directions that fall within the scope of the conference. Both kinds of submissions must be original and shall undergo anonymous peer review. Submissions by recent MSc graduates and PhD students are especially sought. Tutorial proposals shall include a title, an abstract, a description of the topic, an outline of the presentation, the proposed duration (half-day or full-day), the intended level of the contents (introductory, intermediate, or advanced), and a statement motivating attendance. Tutorial proposals shall be submitted at any time but no later than the 26 February 2024 to the respective chair Maria A. Proposals may be submitted for half- or full-day events, to be scheduled at either end of the AEiC conference. Workshop organizers shall also commit to producing the proceedings of the event, for publication in the Ada User Journal.
