CALL FOR PAPERS
The 9th International Workshop on Agent-based Modeling and Applications with SARL (SARL-25)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In conjunction with the 16th International Conference on Ambient Systems, Networks, and
Technologies ANT 2025
April 22 - 24, 2025, Patras, Greece.
https://www.ciad-lab.fr/9th-international-workshop-on-agent-based-modeling-…
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description
===========
Research on Agents and Multi-Agent Systems has matured during the last decade and many
effective applications of this technology are now deployed. SARL-25 provides an
international forum to present and discuss the latest scientific developments and
their effective applications, to assess the impact of the approach, and to facilitate
technology transfer.
SARL workshop was born with the SARL agent programming language, but the scientific results
presented in SARL-25 are not restricted to SARL; other languages and agent platforms may
be presented.
SARL aims at providing the fundamental abstractions for dealing with concurrency,
distribution, interaction, decentralization, reactivity, autonomy and dynamic
reconfiguration. These high-level features are now considered as the major
requirements for an easy and practical implementation of modern complex software
applications. We are convinced that the agent-oriented paradigm holds the keys to
effectively meet these features. Considering the variety of existing approaches and
meta-models in the field of agent-oriented engineering and more generally multi-agent
systems, our approach remains as generic as possible and highly extensible to easily
integrate new concepts and features.
The goal of SARL-25 is to provide a place where the different points of view on the
modeling and the simulation with agent platforms and agent programming languages may be
discussed.
SARL-25 will be held in Patras, Greece (April 22 - 24, 2025) in conjunction with the
15th International Conference on Ambient Systems, Networks, and Technologies (ANT 2025).

**CALL FOR PAPERS**
The 26th IEEE International Workshop on Parallel and Distributed
Scientific and Engineering Computing (PDSEC-2025) (http://www.ieee-tcsc.org/2025/pdsec/)
will be held on the 3rd of June 2025 in Milan, Italy, in conjunction with IPDPS 2025.
Deadline:
PDSEC-2025 deadline: 19 Jan 2025 (AoE)
Scope and Interests:
The technological trends in HPC system evolution indicates an increasing
burden placed on application developers due to the management of the
unprecedented complexity levels of hardware and its associated
performance characteristics. Many existing scientific applications codes
are unlikely to perform well on future systems without major modifications
or even complete rewrites. In the future, it will be necessary to utilize, in
concert, many characteristics such as multiple levels of parallelism, many
lightweight cores, complex memory hierarchies, novel I/O technology,
power capping, system-wide temporal/spatial performance heterogeneity
and reliability concerns. The parallel and distributed computing (PDC)
community has developed new programming models, algorithms, libraries
and tools to meet these challenges in order to accommodate productive
code development and effective system use. However, the scientific
application community still needs to identify the benefit through practical
evaluations.
Thus, the focus of this workshop is on methodologies and experiences
used in scientific and engineering applications and algorithms to achieve
sustainable code development for better productivity, application
performance and reliability. In particular, we will focus on the following
topics in parallel and distributed scientific and engineering applications,
and not limited to:
- Big scientific data
- Performance modeling and simulation for the execution of scalable
scientific applications on new heterogeneous architectures
- Graph analytics with their (scientific) applications
- Code modernization methodologies and experiences for adapting the
changes in future computing systems
- Languages for scientific computing on hybrid systems (e.g. Python,
MPI+X where X is OpenMP, OpenCL, CUDA etc.)
- Tools and techniques for improving the performance, reliability and
resilience of scientific applications
- Use cases of enterprise distributed computing technology (such as
MapReduce, Data Analytics and Machine-learning tools) in scientific and
engineering applications
- Scalable parallel and distributed algorithms supporting science and
engineering applications
- Performance portability across heterogeneous architecture

===============================================================
The Third Workshop on Urgent Analytics for Distributed Computing (QUICK'25)
aims to provide a platform that addresses distributed applications that
enable important decision-making under time and quality constraints while
maintaining desired confidence. We seek scientific contributions that
leverage the aggregation of heterogeneous resources along the data path
from the Edge to the Cloud and/or HPC, also known as the Computing
Continuum, to support critical analytics applications. Data-driven dynamic
workflows, which combine knowledge from multiple data sources and integrate
it on-demand with large-scale computational models, are some of the
canonical use cases for this theme.
We are looking for original high-quality research and position papers on
urgent applications, programming models, and resource management software
for the computing continuum. Topics of interest for workshop submissions
include, but are not limited to:
- Algorithms, models and systems considerations in designing urgent
applications in the Computing Continuum
- Programming support for user expectations and constraints in terms of
response time, solution quality, data resolution, cost, energy, etc.
- Run-time techniques to provide flexible execution models for computation
and communication.
- Resource management frameworks and interfaces supporting scheduling,
resource allocations and application execution for the computing continuum.
- Use of AI and ML techniques to steer urgency in systems and applications.
- Application Experiences and policy frameworks using computing continuum
infrastructures.
- Autonomic Computing in the Computing Continuum
- Distributed Machine Learning in the Computing Continuum
- Edge Intelligence models and architectures
- Feedback, Control and Observability for the Continuum

Submission Guidelines
Authors are invited to submit papers electronically, through EasyChair. The
papers should be submitted in PDF, using IEEE format for conference
proceedings. Paper length must not exceed 8 pages (including figures,
tables and references). Submitted papers must represent original
unpublished research that is not currently under review for any other
conference or journal. Papers determined to be under active review
elsewhere will be rejected without review. Submissions received after the
due date, exceeding the length limit, or not appropriately structured may
also not be considered. Authors may contact the conference chairs for more
information.
Publication
All accepted papers will be published as part of the CCGRIDW proceedings
(CCGrid Workshops proceedings). All previous CCGrid proceedings have been
published by the IEEE and available online through IEEE Digital Library (EI
indexing). Selected papers will also be invited to submit an extended
version to a Special Issue in a Q1 journal.
