This is due to the tremendous advances in a broad spectrum of technologies and topics, including wireless networking, mobile and distributed computing, sensor systems, RFID technology, and the ubiquitous mobile phone. MobiSPC-2019 solicits papers that focus on the theory, systems, practices and challenges of providing users with a successful mobile or wireless experience. This includes how mobile computing changes how people pervasively use their computers, computing resources and applications, as well the systems, services and technologies enabling those applications. MobiSPC-2019 will provide a leading edge, scholarly forum for researchers, engineers, and students alike to share their state-of-the art research and developmental work in the broad areas of pervasive computing and mobile systems. Publication All MobiSPC 2019 accepted papers will be published by Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series on-line. Procedia Computer Science is hosted by Elsevier on www.Elsevier.com and on Elsevier content platform ScienceDirect (www.sciencedirect.com), and will be freely available worldwide. All papers in Procedia will be indexed by Scopus (www.scopus.com) and by Thomson Reuters' Conference Proceeding Citation Index (http://thomsonreuters.com/conference-proceedings-citation-index/). AI is becoming increasingly accurate and effective in performing a broad range of complex health care related tasks (e.g. recognizing a malignant tumour on MRIs, and coordinating care). Such AI driven performance can then be scaled up, improve health outcomes and save many lives. As a result, AI helps clinicians, patients and many health stakeholders to make faster, better, and cheaper decisions, at scale. This presentation provides an overview of the state of the art in how AI and MAS are shaping the health care journey forward. Assistant Professor in Computer Science The German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) was established in collaboration with RWTH Aachen University in 2007 in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman. The Vision of the German University of Technology in Oman is to become a leading university of technology in the wider region by building on the three pillars of education, research and innovation. Through its affiliation with RWTH Aachen University, the German University of Technology in Oman provides students with the education required to become highly qualified and socially responsible graduates, guided by German excellence and with a firm grounding in Oman's culture and heritage. GUtech's programmes of study are accredited by the German agency ACQUIN and the University has recently undergone a successful evaluation by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD. GUtech faculty also engage in local research projects, often in cooperation with RWTH Aachen University and other universities abroad. The Computer Science Department at GUtech is committed to excellence in teaching and research. It is striving to convey broad theoretical and practical knowledge to its students, while focusing on cutting-edge technologies and latest standards. In addition to covering areas related to programming, databases, Web-based technologies, networking, computer systems, mobile applications, and software engineering, the Computer Science curriculum of the department includes an important business component. The Computer Science Department is going to expand in the near future. A new Master degree in Computer Science is expected to start in September 2019. Skilful, motivated, and devoted faculty members will, therefore, be needed accordingly. The Computer Science Department is seeking applications for the position of a Assistant Professor in Computer Science 1. Requirements and Competencies Candidates must have a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields. They should have demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate/graduate courses and able to prove minimum of 3 years teaching experience at higher education level in Computer Science (or related fields). Candidates from all research/teaching areas are welcome, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one of the following: Mobile application development; Web design and development; Data Science; Security. Industry experience is an asset, as well as research activities and publications. The successful applicant will be expected to teach several courses on the undergraduate and graduate level. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work within a multi-cultural team environment. The language of instruction at GUtech is English. 2. ACM NanoCom 2019 6th ACM International Conference on Nanoscale Computing and Communication Dublin, Ireland, September 16-18, 2019 http://nanocom.acm.org/nanocom2019/index.php Call for Papers Communication technologies at micro- and nanoscale are essential for tackling numerous challenges in many fields, including ICT, medicine, pharmacology, synthetic biology, and materials science. The interdisciplinary nature of the related research challenges has prompted the creation of new multidisciplinary work groups. The 6th ACM International Conference on Nanoscale Computing and Communication (ACM NanoCom 2019) aims to further grow the research community that contributes to nanocomputing and communications, and to stimulate the knowledge transfer to industries. ACM NanoCom 2019 will highlight novel research results and breakthrough ideas, and identify directions for short and medium term exploitation. Novel theoretical and experimental research contributions are welcome. The conference will feature contributed and invited papers, posters, and keynote addresses in this emerging inter-disciplinary field. We invite submissions in areas including (but not limited to) the following: - Electromagnetic communication at (sub-)THz and optical frequencies Coding, modulation, detection, and estimation Channel modeling including free-space propagation and intra-chip/intra- body propagation Devices based on nanomaterials and metamaterials Localization and positioning - Molecular communication in the biological, chemical, or mechanical environments Signal design, detection, estimation, and sensing Modeling channels of free diffusion, guided transport, microfluidic, in-vivo/in-vitro biological systems Molecular communication components including signal sources and encoders/ decoders - Interfaces for molecular and electromagnetic nanoscale communications - Nanoscale communication network protocols for nanosensor and biological networks - Simulation tools and experimental testbeds for nanonetworks Design and formal methods for specifying components and parameters Experimental demonstrations of nano-communication systems - Integration of nano- and traditional macroscale communication systems - Nano-computing paradigms, including neuromorphic computing, DNA and molecular computing, membrane computing, quantum computing, and biological computing - Applications, such as the Internet of Nano(-Bio)-things, nanosensor networks, systems on chip, nanomedicine, tissue engineering, future and emerging applications, nanonetworks in exotic materials such as functional meta-surfaces and meta-materials As in the previous years of the conference, top selected articles presented at the conference will be invited for extended fast track publishing in the Elsevier Nano Communication Networks Journal (IF: 2.07): https://www.journals.elsevier.com/nano-communication-networks Paper Submission: Papers submitted to ACM NanoCom 2019 must be original, not previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere, and they must not be submitted to any other event or publication during the entire review process. ACM NanoCom 2019 accepts both regular and short papers. Regular papers are limited to 6 pages including figures and references. They should describe novel advances in topics within the scope of the conference. Short papers are limited to 2 pages including figures and references. They provide an opportunity to present preliminary results and they will be presented in a poster session. All submitted papers will undergo a peer review process, as coordinated by the Technical Program Committee. Paper submissions should follow the ACM double-column format for conferences.
